How We Determined The Largest Cities In Connecticut

We've been ranking and dissecting cities in the Constitution State for over 4 years now -- making this actually the fourth time we've run the numbers. We always use the best data, the US Census. In this case, that means we are using the 2013-2017 American Community Survey.

It what is probably the most simple analysis we run each year, we ranked every place in Connecticut from biggest to smallest. The biggest city this year? That would be Bridgeport.

The smallest? New Hartford Center, although there are places smaller than 1,000 people not listed here, so keep that in mind as we take a look at the top ten.

Review Of Bridgeport by HomeSnacks User

I'm from Bridgeport and yes our taxes are high but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. Bridgeport is improving for the better no matter what you think.

Where else in Connecticut can you enjoy the zoo, the beach, multiple parks, free outdoor music every week in the summer, out door movie nights, arts festivals, vibes, the theater, catch the ferry and so much more!!!! I am tired of everyone talking about Bridgeport, there are worst places to live.

Review Of Stamford by HomeSnacks User

Schools in this area are great, low crime rates as well. Housing can be a bit pricey but the scenery of this city is beautiful.

Brennans, a hidden pub in a dead end street has to be my favorite place to drink as well as to eat. Their food is phenomenal, the greatest thing along with this is that its right next to the beach so you can spend time at the beach then walk to the bar.

Hartford is the capital of the U.S. state of Connecticut. It was the seat of Hartford County until Connecticut disbanded county government in 1960. As of the 2010 Census, Hartford's population was 124,775, making it Connecticut's third-largest city after the coastal cities of Bridgeport and New Haven. Census Bureau estimates since then have indicated Hartford's fall to fourth place statewide, as a result of sustained population growth in the coastal city of Stamford.

Review Of Hartford by HomeSnacks User

Hartford is a miserable crime riddled city without any positive attributes. The restaurants are sub-par. The crime rate is through the roof. It is not uncommon to see prostitutes and pimps. You can't drive more than a couple blocks before you see a drug deal. The mayor is an idiot and is doing nothing to turn his awful city around. Now, the City of Hartford thinks the State of Connecticut should bail them out.

There is nothing worthwhile in this city. The baseball team is a complete joke. The restaurants are sub-par. The parks are heroine needle filled. The roads are full of potholes. The hospitals frequently treat people with gun shot wounds and stabbings. Avoid Hartford, Connecticut at all costs.
