How We Determined The Largest Cities In North Carolina

We've been ranking and dissecting cities in the Tar Heel State for over 4 years now -- making this actually the fourth time we've run the numbers. We always use the best data, the US Census. In this case, that means we are using the 2013-2017 American Community Survey.

It what is probably the most simple analysis we run each year, we ranked every place in North Carolina from biggest to smallest. The biggest city this year? That would be Charlotte.

The smallest? Mcleansville, although there are places smaller than 1,000 people not listed here, so keep that in mind as we take a look at the top ten.

Review Of Greensboro by HomeSnacks User

It is pretty safe. Some areas are not safe closer to downtown communities. The schools are average here with the school district trying to improve. There is so much to do with shopping centers like the Friendly Shopping Center, city-sponsored events such as food trucks, festivals, competitions, museums, nature activities, etc.

My favorite place to go to is Bur Mil Park It is very pretty to walk around and has tons of recreational activities to participate in.

Review Of Durham by HomeSnacks User

Durham has been a great place to live for the past 5 years.

There are two clear sections to it from my perspective, downtown and mid-burbs.

Downtown you can walk to everything and they are building it up like crazy.

The mid-burbs are still part of Durham, feel like the suburbs, not walking friendly, but safer and more kid friendly.

You can always park wherever you drive, so it's more of a lifestyle choice than anything else.

Fayetteville is a city in Cumberland County, North Carolina, United States. It is the county seat of Cumberland County, and is best known as the home of Fort Bragg, a major U.S. Army installation northwest of the city.

Review Of Fayetteville by L Bo

I have to say.. I live in Fayetteville, North Carolina. I was born here, raised here and am raising my own children here.

Is it bc I'm stuck here- No.. Not even close.

I love this city.

I hear often people who talk s**t about it but honestly I can't say anything bad. A lot would say they're afraid of some parts of it but.. I grew up in some of the worst parts so maybe that's why I don't mind them.

The people that live in the bad areas are no different than anyone else, they just either didn't get the same opportunity as others or have lower paying jobs. But.. What's not to love-

You have country areas with cows, land, farms, city areas, suburbs, plenty of shopping centers, hundreds of thousands of food places, movies, skating, go kart, a d**n sky diving place, pools, parks, beach is 2 hours away, mountains are a few hours away.

Plenty to do. thousands of schools, some of the best schools for kids actually, a great hospital with a huge heart, cancer center, new state of the art ED & a helicopter to take you to Duke if needed.

With ft Bragg being right in the city, so many different types of people here and everyone is kind.. If you smile, 10 X out of 10, you get a smile back. I love it.

The U.S. Census Bureau estimates the town's population to be 159,769 as of July 1, 2015. Cary is the second most populous incorporated town in the United States.

Review Of Cary by HomeSnacks User

I grew up in Cary and lived there until I moved away for college. It is a town that I would recommend to anyone for any reason. Cary is a place for everyone, great for seniors, great for raising kids, and great for young adults and professionals. The schools are fantastic, there is a great selection of food, activities, and experiences. It was a wonderful place for me to grow up and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for their forever home.

The schools in Cary were excellent, providing high quality education and service to the community. There are also various restaurants catering to different national cuisine. The only issue I've had as a young adult going back to Cary is that there is very little nightlife and the young adult population is on the lower end, mostly being kids coming home from college while on breaks. This is not unmanageable, as a city with a bustling nightlife is nearby, about 15 minutes away.

Review Of Asheville by HomeSnacks User

Asheville is a simply beautiful city. It is populated by the most open minded, outgoing citizens. There is so much to do in the beautiful surrounding mountains, as well as in the thriving downtown streets. Hiking, kayaking, and zip lining are popular for the average adrenaline junkie. However, I enjoy the more artistic, human element of Asheville. In the spring, there are musicians that perform on the streets in downtown. There is a drum circle that anyone who enjoys playing or dancing would love. There is also many quaint romantic restaurants and bakeries where I and my Fiance have enjoyed many a quiet evening.

My favorite place is downtown. There are several bakeries and restaurants there that are romantic. There is a music hall that doubles as a small bar. There are also many good museums.
