Alaska is certainly one of the last places on earth where you might think to see surfers. But there are a group of hardy souls who push their limits in search of finding that perfect wave along Alaska’s rugged, freezing coastline for most of the year.
These aren’t perfect waves to Hang 10 on by any stretch. But every now and then, someone catches a few fleeting moments of euphoria. It’s the difficulty of accessing the coastline, enduring the storms and surviving the cold that make surfing in Alaska so rewarding.
This is the sign of true passion. Way to go, Alaskans.
