Just about everyone in South Dakota has visited the Missouri River at some point in their lives. But there are very few aerial videos of the Missouri River in South Dakota. This short video shows how breathtaking and immense this great waterway truly is. It’s actually too massive to really wrap your head around.
What has been the lifeblood for the state for hundreds of years, the Great Missouri River acts as a Great Dividing Line between the people in SoDak, pitting residents against each other in a rather tame, but very prevalent, civil war.
East River has the biggest city in the state (Sioux Falls) with more people and much more to do, better soil for growing wheat and corn, and stronger ties to their European ancestry.
West River is far less crowded, sees less rain than East River, has a much more badass landscape, and close ties with Native American cultural roots, ranching, and living off the land.
Both sides of the state, however, can truly appreciate this short gem. Looking good, South Dakota!
