Weve analyzed the FBI crime reports data on violent and property crimes for every single neighborhood in Detroit. Then, we calculated your chances of being the victim of a crime in each one.

How We Determined The Safest Detroit Hoods In 2020
You can ask people which neighborhoods are the safest, or you can just look at the unbiased raw data. So, instead of relying on speculation and opinion, we analyzed the hard numbers from the FBIs most recent crime report (published in September of 2019) for every neighborhood in Detroit.
To be more specific, we analyzed the FBIs Uniform Crime Report. We then ran an analysis to calculate each neighborhoods property and violent crimes based on the demographics of the area and reported crime. We used two key criteria:
- Total Crimes Per Capita
- Violent Crimes Per Capita
- Property Crimes Per Capita
We then ranked each neighborhood with scores from 1 to 85 in each category, where 1 was the safest.
Next, we averaged the rankings for each neighborhood to create a safe neighborhood index.
And finally, we crowned the neighborhood with the lowest safest neighborhood index the ‘Safest City Neighborhood In Detroit.’ We’re lookin’ at you, Detroit Golf.

The 10 Safest Neighborhoods To Live In Detroit For 2020
The Detroit Golf Club is a private golf club located in Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan in the middle of a neighborhood area on north side of the city near the University of Detroit Mercy and Palmer Woods Historic District. Bert Way designed the original 6-hole course, then it gradually improved to 9 holes, and finally Donald Ross built the current 36-hole course. The club grounds crew maintains two courses. The North and the South Course. The head pro is Jon Gates. On October 10, 2010 the club and sponsors have expressed interest in a PGA Tour event to be held possibly in the future.

The violent crime per 100K people in Rivertown comes in at 1,052 and the property crime per capita is 2,322 for 2020.
The violent crime per 100K people in Corktown comes in at 1,143 and the property crime per capita is 2,522 for 2020.
The violent crime per 100K people in Martin Park comes in at 1,149 and the property crime per capita is 2,528 for 2020.
The violent crime per 100K people in Michigan-Martin comes in at 1,419 and the property crime per capita is 1,567 for 2020.

Looking at the data, you can tell that Detroit Golf is as safe as they come, according to science and data.
